Setting up and configuring monitoring solutions is complex. Not so with Scalarium.
We have built-in monitoring and we integrate the Ganglia monitoring system.

Built-in

Scalarium has simple monitoring built-in. No need to install or configure anything. We measure host level metrics like CPU, memory or load on every machine by default.

Further, we have dedicated monitoring servers. As soon as you start one of those, all your servers start to report extensive metrics.

Ganglia Monitoring

With the dedicated Ganglia instance you get role specific metrics like requests per second or number of SELECT queries.

The monitoring Web interface gives an overview of your cluster and you can drill down into specific metrics or hosts. No extra work required.

Extendable

The built-in metrics and reporting can be easily extended. Custom scripts can report any data you gather and Ganglia will happily render the graphs. You can report application metrics or monitor custom services.

Many Open Source plugins are available for Ganglia. Scalarium will monitor Apache, Nginx, HAProxy, MySQL, Memcache, Passenger, and local hosts metrics by default.
